After Party Tour
The After Party Tour is the sixth headlining concert tour by American pop singer, Aaron Carter. Dubbed as a comeback tour, it's Carter's first concert tour since 2004. Beginning February 2013, the trek will play over 150 shows at theatres and nightclubs in the United States.
==Background==
The tour was announced on Carter's Facebook page on January 11, 2013. In his post, he stated, "I’m happy to announce that I will be going on my long overdue tour #TheAfterPartyTour! Stay tuned for more dates that will be added soon. Here we go"! This is Carter's first tour in nine years. Following numerous career downfalls, the singer felt he wouldn't have the opportunity to tour again. After his stint on Dancing with the Stars, Carter performed several one-off concerts, including the Summer MixTape Festival in 2012. Before the tour commenced, the singer left his tenure performing as Matt on the off-Broadway play, ''The Fantasticks''.
The tour begin in February 2013 at the historic Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, New York. The tour name stems from Carter's best-selling album, ''Aaron's Party (Come Get It)''.〔 He feels the fun really happens at the after party. Keeping with the after party theme, the majority of the tour will reach small theaters, nightclubs and cafes—many with a capacity of 700 and under. Many dates have sold out quickly, causing the tour be extended into the end of June. The main promotion for the tour was social media. Carter interacts with fans on Twitter, even taking a pause during each concert to take an Instagram picture. The singer has stated that a behind-the-scene documentary is being filmed while on tour, with a new album to possibly be released in the summer of 2013.
